• Heavy pattern high profile: DIN 982 nuts have the same across flat size as regular nylon nuts but an increased overall height (typically 1.5–2 mm taller) for improved wrenching and thread engagement.
• Nylon insert lock: A permanent undersized nylon/polyamide ring at the top produces friction, creating a prevailing torque that resists loosening and seals out moisture and gases.
• High type nylon insert compresses without damaging threads: The insert deforms around the mating threads to lock the nut in place and then recovers; it does not cut the threads and can be reused a limited number of times.
• Less exposed thread: The taller profile leaves less external thread exposed, improving safety and appearance.
• Standards: Manufactured to DIN 982 (high type) and equivalent to ISO 7040.
• Cautions: Nylon inserts have chemical and temperature limitations; friction may cause galling when paired with stainless bolts. Reuse is limited and nuts must be installed with the nylon insert facing outward. Avoid power tools to prevent damage.
